What is Social40+?

 

Social40+ is Melbourne's social community for adults aged 40+ who want to meet new people, enjoy great experiences, and build genuine friendships. Most people come on their own, and our hosted events make it easy to feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

 

Do I need to become a member?

 

No.

 

Anyone can browse our events, join our mailing list, and attend selected public events.

Events up until our membership launch are either free to join, or will have an event fee attached between $6.00 and $12.00.  These fees help us run the business, marketing, and launch Social40+ to become Australia's largest Social community for the 40+ and like-minded cohort.  

Membership will become available from 1 November 2026* (Subject to change depending on our business readiness) giving members access to additional benefits and exclusive experiences.

 

When do memberships begin?

 

Social40+ memberships officially launch on 1 November 2026*.  

 

More details about each membership tier, pricing, and benefits will be announced before launch.

 

What membership options will be available?

 

From 1 November 2026*, we will release a tiered structure based on first come, first served.  You'll be able to choose from three options:

 

Founding Member:

First 60 members 

$12.00 Per Month 

Full access to the events calendars completely unlimited 

 

2nd Release:

Next 190 members 

$18.00 Per Month 

Full access to the events calendars completely unlimited

3rd and final Release: 

General Public Access - released when we reach 250 members 

$28.00 Per Month 

Full access to the events calendars completely unlimited

Guests (non-members) 

Some events will be free to join for non-members as a "try before you buy" situation

Other events will have a fee for non-members ranging between $6.00 to $12.00.  Depending on how many events attended each month will determine the best value and fit for you in the long term.

Can I still attend events without a membership?

 

Yes.

 

Many Social40+ events will remain open to everyone. Some future events and member offers may be exclusive to paid members once memberships launch.

 

Do people really come on their own?

 

Absolutely.

 

Many of our members attend solo. That's exactly why Social40+ exists.

Our events are designed so arriving alone never feels awkward.  

 

You are welcomed by a host who will greet you, introduce you and help you settle into the group.  All of our guests are made to feel at ease the moment they arrive, and we always have regular's who make you feel right at home.

Is this a dating group?

 

No.

 

People are welcome to make friendships, connections, or even meet someone special naturally, but Social40+ is a social community, not a dating service and we specifically avoid creating singles mixer events.  If you do happen to meet someone in a dating romantic capacity - that's on you.  

 

How old do I need to be?

 

Social40+ is designed for people aged 40 (ish) and over.

 

If you're slightly younger and feel our community is the right fit, you're welcome to join us.  We don't discriminate and just expect an adherence to our Community Guidelines.  

 

How do I book an event?

 

Simply browse our upcoming events and reserve your place online. Some events require payment in advance, while others are free or pay-as-you-go.

 

Can I bring a friend?

 

Of course! The more the merrier and another great opportunity for others to meet their new awesome friend.  

 

Friends are always welcome. Just make sure everyone books their own ticket if required to help us manage our attendance numbers.
